"The business of practicing law is about doing what’s right, practicing decency, and building solid relationships. When we set the bar to these standards, our clients achieve their desired outcome and we accomplish our mission." |
Experience
Bruce Jackson, Of Counsel to Anthony J. Madonia & Associates, Ltd., is a corporate general counsel, commercial transaction, and litigation Attorney for privately-held firms and individuals.
Mr. Jackson practices with a firm belief that thriving in the business world is best achieved by doing what is fundamentally right and practicing decency towards others. Clients, colleagues, and opposing litigators have all experienced the standards, ethics, and spirit that guide Mr. Jackson’s actions and activities. Disciplined from his commission in the army, Mr. Jackson takes time to become acquainted with his clients and their business and challenges so that he can provide sound legal advice and representation that reflects an extension of the organizations and their best interests.
With a background in human resources from corporate experience at Johnson & Johnson, Mid South Utility Group, and Hibernia National Bank, where he was Head of Employment, Mr. Jackson saw an opportunity to support privately-held business and their owners with the challenges created by the multi- tasking required to grow. Mr. Jackson’s interest in moving from the corporate environment to the private sector, along with his personal desire to practice law, led to his attending law school and subsequently forming his practice to provide Corporate Counsel services to entrepreneurs and the families that they support.
Mr. Jackson thrives on tying up the loose ends that can complicate commercial transactions. He is equally interested in early strategizing and planning for new entities, companies, and foundations to chart a course that clearly defines and communicates goals and objectives, roles and responsibilities, and expectations and consequences. Mr. Jackson is highly regarded for his multi- discipline perspectives into the complexities that affect transactions and his respectful approach to resolving situations that require litigation.
It was his passion for doing the right thing and the example that he sets that led to his 2010-2011 assignment as Distinguished Practitioner in Residence for Catholic University of America - Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C.
While Mr. Jackson’s schedule requires that he commute, he and his wife, Gerlyn, continue to make Chicago their home, where they enjoy activities with their three grown children and their extended families.
Education
Mr. Jackson earned a basketball scholarship to Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio where he secured his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
