David Shoub, Of Counsel to Anthony J. Madonia & Associates, Ltd., is an Attorney and Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Shoub focuses his practice on advanced estate planning, taxation, and planned giving. Highly regarded for his knowledge in charitable and gift tax planning, Mr. Shoub is sought by families and individuals of high net worth who want to preserve wealth, minimize taxes, and plan for their legacy and succession.
After earning his undergraduate degree in Accounting, Mr. Shoub worked for the IRS, where he gained taxation experience. Determined to add law to his knowledge base, Mr. Shoub obtained his law degree, allowing him to have accounting and law as parallel perspectives. He subsequently moved to Wolf & Company, a national CPA firm, where he became National Tax Director. Ever the entrepreneur interested in serving entrepreneurs, Mr. Shoub has been in private practice of law since 1980.
Mr. Shoub applies both his accounting and legal experience to make an impact for his clients as well as other professionals in a profession dedicated to supporting the interests of privately-held companies and high net-worth individuals. From the successful outcomes achieved with the estate plans he has crafted, Mr. Shoub has become a resource, an advisor, and a mentor for philanthropic planning. He is reputed for his keen attention to his clients’ needs and the design and implementation of comprehensive estate plans.

Mr. Shoub is a native of Chicago, where he resides with his wife, Suzie. Between golf and entertaining, they enjoy weekends at their retreat in Michigan, where they often host their children and grandchildren.
Education
Mr. Shoub earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Michigan State University and his Juris Doctorate from the DePaul University College of Law in Chicago.
Professional and Civic Affiliations
Mr. Shoub is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and the Financial Planning Association of Illinois, where he served as Director on the Illinois Chapter Board and has chaired the Annual Financial Forum. Upon discovering his passion for estate planning, Mr. Shoub extended his reach to help establish best practices and collaborative networks for attorneys and financial professionals dedicated to providing comprehensive estate planning services. As a result, Mr. Shoub is a founding member of both the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys and Wealth Counsel, LLC.
A frequent speaker, Mr. Shoub speaks to community and professional groups about basic and advanced Estate Planning. In addition, his lectures have served as continuing education for certified public accountants, insurance professionals, and financial advisors. His material has since been published in the book he co-authored: Your Life, Your Legacy...The Fundamentals of Effective Estate Planning.
