    Experience

    Michaeline Gordon J.D. LL.M., Of Counsel to Anthony J. Madonia & Associates, Ltd., is an estate planning and transactional attorney who focuses on estate business planning, asset protection and estate and trust administration. She assists business owners, families, and individuals with all aspects of estate and trust planning, business succession planning and charitable giving. Ms. Gordon also spends time helping single and unmarried couples to properly structure their estates in light of increasingly complex state and federal law laws. Ms. Gordon assists families with elder law planning and she has developed a special interest in assisting families with sensitive circumstances, such as planning for disabled children and adults with special needs.

    Experienced in probate and trust administration, Ms. Gordon works with executors and trustees to administer decedent estates and trusts. She has also represented large and small banking institutions as outside trust counsel.

    Ms. Gordon works with entrepreneurs throughout the full business cycle, from initial planning for entity selection to asset protection and wealth preservation through succession planning.

    Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Gordon was Partner at Stahl Cowen Crowley & Addis LLC and previously led the Estate Planning Practice at American Express Tax and Business Services in Chicago.

    Michaeline is a native of Chicago and resides in Chicago’s South Loop, where she has lived for more than 15 years. She is a squash, tennis and fitness enthusiast. Among her personal commitments is raising awareness about planned giving to benefit the empowerment of women, children and their families through organizations such as the Hunger Project.

    Education

    Ms. Gordon earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and her Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. She continued her education at De Paul University College of Law in Chicago, where she earned her LL. M. in Taxation.

    Professional and Civic Affiliations

    Ms. Gordon believes that investing in legal and social communities is an integral part of her professional responsibility. She is a member of the International Bar Association where she is active in the Closely Held Business Committee, as well as the Chicago Bar Association, where she participates in the Trust Law Committee and was Past Vice-Chair on the Probate Practice Committee. She also serves on the Advisory Board for the Walter E. Heller College of Business, Roosevelt University. She served as Board President for Alternative Behavior Treatment Centers, a social service agency providing leadership in juvenile justice, located in Mundelein and Oak Park, Illinois for 15 years.

    A frequent speaker to organizations such as the International Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, National Business Institute, Lorman Education, and other professional and community groups, Ms. Gordon´s most recent lectures include Critical Estate Planning and the ROTH IRA and Asset Protection for for Self-Directed Retirement Accounts. Ms. Gordon has contributed articles to the Illinois Bar Journal and has been quoted in articles on estate planning topics in Today´s Chicago Woman.

    Ms. Gordon is also The President of the Advisory Board Walter E Heller College of Business and a member of the Advisory Board for Advocate Health Systems.
